2011 370z right front tiew

Please help. When turning the steering wheel sharply to the right it feels like the front right tire is skidding or something and makes a knocking sound. Normal driving and turning feels fine. I thought maybe from turning really sharp could be problem but I really believe something is wrong. No shakes or anything in steering. Drives straight.

2011 touring model
15,000 miles
Warranty just ended in August 2014

Is there any recalls on this? I can't believe I can have a front end issue??

Please help.

Could use help following a convertible top replacement...

I have discovered that my old 350 and now the 370 has a mechanical part in the convertible hood that rubs a hole in the fabric. I bought the 350 used and it was too late, but this time the 370 was new and it happened in time to catch the warranty. As a result the dealer replaced my top.

But what a problem that has been. They used an outside service and when it was installed, I can now see metal under the fabric interior when I sit in either seat and look back at the point where the interior of the mobile roof meets the interior of the car body. I confess I didn't expect this and did not look to see what it looked like before but don't recall that I could see any of the mechanicals under the interior fabric, unlike in my old 350Z. The dealer has taken it back and is going to work it themselves now and I may have to get the regional representative involved. Dealer is not being a pain and wants to help but they don't have the model on the lot as of the fall season and top replacement is not a big issue it appears so they don't really know.

Is there any possibility that someone could shoot a pic of their interior convertible, focusing on the inside side area, just at the point behind/beside the arched guards where the seat headrest is? I know it is a weird question, but could really use the help.

Jim

Cat sound when crossing Edinger while driving on Brookhurst in Fountain Valley CA

Hi!

Me and a friend have two of the very first 370z coupe that got sold in California.
When crossing Edinger while driving on Brookhurst in Fountain Valley, CA, there is a loud cat sound that come out of the car speakers.

Here is the extent of the testing we have done:

- 2 of the first 370z sold in California both equipped with navigation system produced the cat sound when crossing the intersection (every time no exception).
- We then tested with the music sound to zero, the cat sound is produced anyway and is fairly loud. (If the radio sound is up then the radio sound is deemed as if the navigation systems was about to make an announcement but instead cat sounds come out)
- The final test was with an early 2010 370z convertible with navigation system and that one did not produce the cat sound at all.

I brought that up to Nissan Buena Park dealership while my car was being serviced and they did not take me seriously, almost laughed at me and as I insisted that this is an issue that is annoying and needs to be fixed by Nissan they came close to being disrespectful. (I was planing on getting an SUV from them later this year I am definitely re-considering that now...)

Bottom line is: this is an issue that affects specifically the very firsts 370z Coupe sold (probably only the ones that are equipped with navigation system).

I am now looking for other owners that might have run into this issue too or even better people that might have the solution to the problem.

My next step is to take contact with Nissan Corp but I am hoping someone here has the solution to the problem though.

Thanks and Happy Motoring!

PS: I have recorded a few videos (with various configuration i.e. bluetooth on and off, etc...) of this problem where you can here the cat sounds. I plan on showing them to the dealer so they can see I am not crazy. I have not uploaded the videos anywhere but if anyone wants to take a look I could upload them to Youtube. I am clearly hoping for a solution as this is very disappointing and also starting drive me nuts. Not to mention being brushed off by the dealership.
HFC hiss

Hello All! I just got Stillen HFCs and dual intakes and now my Z sounds so much more raspier than before. I really dont care for the sound at all. I've heard the HFCs make it more raspy but I didnt expect this odd sound. The Nismo exhaust sounded ok before the other parts but when added the cats and intake it sounds really ricey. My mechanic said he had to take off the damper becuz it won't fit with the HFC but I have not received it yet. Is that the problem? I noticed the problem after it downshifts I just want it to have a nice deep rumble..with of course the added hp! Any suggestions would help! Thanks :)
