Just picked up my new Z this past Tues. After reading about oil issues I have a couple of questions. What brand of oil seems to work best? Is anyone using synthetic? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I purchased a Z a few months ago and after alot of reading went with the Nissan brand oil...the dealer even told me my first oil change that any good grade oil would be fine but the top end could become a little noisy....ya know valve clatter? The car is worth (to me) paying the $12 dollars a quart at the dealer....

Just a fyi. My dad has a 350 and has 175000 on it using mobil 1 full synthetic. Only problem he has had is a thermostat go out. I know apples and oranges but just saying. I had my 370 oil changed at 1000 because the car is a 2010 that never got sold. Being that I tested oil in the navy I figured maybe there was a posibility of moisture in the oil causing a high oil temp. Went to the dealer for a oil change and they swapped filter and oil out. Same problem. Also in reguards to the "valve clatter" and the the ester is the solving solution I don't really buy that. Nissan said they were going to "good will me a cooler" and that was in the begining of july. Here we are august and no cooler. If you are contimplating it, Z1 has a good one that i am on the fence about getting.
